Ukiyo Orchestra are a five piece instrumental group, formed by guitar player Kaoru Tanaka, following on from another group Ukiyo Band. Tanaka is a talented musician, having studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and playing with musicians from around the world, and finding inspiration in India for combining traditional and contemporary music. This is their first album, with guitar alongside Japanese fue (flute), elements of Kagura, taiko drums, improvisation, jazz and rock and koto from guest musician, Hiroe Morikawa.
