Zambient is the 14th solo studio album by Japanese electronic musician and former Deee-Lite member Towa Tei. The concept behind the name is "hybrid ambient" (or Zasshu Ambient in Japanese), where "zasshu" signifies mixed breeds, noise, and cross-pollination. Tei uses this theme to lean into non-mainstream textures, exploring a "sound that doesn't aim for the centre," standing in contrast to standardized AI generations and global trends. Rather than traditional, passive ambient music, ZAMBIENT is described as an eclectic sonic space blending dance rhythms, exotica, glitch electronics, and acoustic elements. Featured musicians include Bose (from rap group Scha Dara Parr), Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter), Hiroshi Takano, Oto Fukuhara and Yuta Hosono.
