The Boom have long been one of Japan's best bands. 20 years ago they helped to popularize Okinawan music with the song Shima Uta. Over the years, with the Boom, and various solo projects by lead singer Kazufumi Miyazawa, the group have explored other types of music from Indonesia to Brazil. This latest album gives a nod to other types of Japanese music including enka, with a couple of tracks featuring legendary singer Sayuri Ishikawa and another, Yu, from Go! Go! 7188.
