Maki Asakawa (1942-2010) was a blues/jazz singer, and part of the urban counterculture in the 1970s. An album was released in the UK a couple of years back, which received great reviews, and interest in her, particularly overseas, has been on the increase ever since. Uramado originally was released in 1973.
