Hoa Mi graduated from the Saigon National Music and Theatre College in 1974. After reunification in 1975, she was part of the Kim Cuong Troupe, performing both at home and aborad. She left Vietnam in 1988 to live in France, where she continued her career as a singer. Returning to Vietnam in 2009 she has resumed her career in Vietnam to great acclaim.
