This DVD features a live performance in Osaka in June 2006 by Nagata Hojun (1935-2010), the 'last blind biwa monk' who continued to perform rituals and prayers using the biwa in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Nagata preaches Buddhist teachings in a narrative style while playing the biwa. The "Shinmei-cho" (Divine Book of Gods) is used to invoke the names of deities from across Japan and to enshrine them at memorial services. The 'Shaka no Dan' (Shaka's Dance) explains the origin of the 'earth nerve' possessed by blind monks. Comes with booklet with commentary and the complete text (in Japanese)
