Rei Jin comes from a family of shakuhachi players, his father and grandfather both being accomplished players. Aside to the family connections he learnt from the masters Reibo Aoki and Hozan Yamamoto.This is a fantastic CD of solo shakuhachi in the style of the Komuso monks, or zen shakuhachi, mostly honkyoku (original pieces) from the Dokkyoku repertroire.
