Blue Mode are a Spain based trio featuring British sax player and flautist Chip Wickham with Gabri Casanova on Hammond organ and drummer Javi 'Skunk' Pacheco with help from guitarist Telmo Fernandez and percussionist David Romano. Space Race is their first album and has a fantastic sixties soul jazz groove throughout. In the UK it's been picked up by Craig Charles on his BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music radio shows. Of particular interest is their version of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. Currently only available in Japan.
