Shoplifters, directed, written and edited by Hirokazu Kore-eda, was an acclaimed film released in 2018. It won many awards including the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, three Mainichi Film Awards in Japan, Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Film, and was nominated for best foreign language film at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes. In March 2019, the soundtrack by Haruomi Hosono won for best Original Music at the Asian Film Awards and for Outstanding Music at the Japan Academy Prize. Only previously available digiitally, the soundtrack now gets released on vinyl. Beware however. The total time for this album clocks in at about 18 minutes.
