Tetsuya Nozawa was born in Kyoto in 1974 and started shamisen at the age of 19 when he was a university student. Later he entered the Research Centre for Contemporary-Traditional Japanese Music in Tokyo and studied shamisen from Akiko Nishigata. He has been the recipient of many awards at traditional music competitions and became a lecturer at a music university in Tokyo in 2005. This is his fifth album of sangen (shamisen) this time teamed up with koto, sho, hichiriki, shakuhachi and other instruments. Six contemporary songs written by among others Tadao Sawai and Masakuni Kineya.
