Keisho Ono is one of the new breed of shamisen players. Lightning fast, technically excellent and attracting a younger crowd to this traditional instrument. He started playing at the age of 8 and by the age of 14 was recognized by Chikuzan Takahashi as his successor. He performed at SXSW in Austin, Texas in 2006 and in 2008 is back with a new album and a new project that teams Ono up with two younger shamisen players.
