Jusu are two veteran musicians with a special love for Okinawa. Shigeharu Sasago is a guitarist and composer with Choro Club, who has worked with many Japanese musicians including Ann Sally and Miyuki Hatakeyama and Okinawan musicians including Misako Koja and Yasukatsu Oshima. Sanshin player Geren Oshima is best known as a member of Okinawan ambient group Tingara, but has also worked with many other Okinawan musicians. They enlisted the help of Ishigaki island vocalist Makico Miyara.
