Marsada are Batak musicians from Samosir island, Lake Toba, Sumatra. They perform uning-uningan, (ceremonial music) and Batak folk songs, mixing traditional and western instruments. Their music is joyous and uplifting and this CD catches their upbeat spirit with good effect.
