Product Description
The debut album from Uquwa, a quartet featuring Shoko Numao, Fumi Endo, Manabu Abe, and Yoshinori Shiraishi. All are involved in Tokyo's jazz and improvisation scene. While primarily based on compositions by Numao, their approach involves each sound resonating with the others during moments of tranquility, permeating the nature of the space, resulting in a sound that dramatically changes with each performance. From moments of refined melodies to ambient sound sculptures and hardcore sonic masses, their music traverses countless indescribable facets. The album was recorded in a single day's session at Jimbocho Shichoshitsu, one of Uquwa's favourite venues, in numerous takes. All selected takes are included unedited. The recording was done using a DIY system by Taku Unami, capturing the unique moment and space with raw intensity.Shoko Numao (vocals) Fumi Endo (piano) Masatake Abe (electric bass) Yoshinori Shiraishi (drums) Taku Unami (recording, mixing, mastering) Shoko Numao (artwork) Digipak with mini-booklet i
