Blue Comets were one of the original, Group Sounds (G.S.) groups from the mid 60s influenced by visiting group such as the Ventures, the Animals and the Beatles. With the explosion of the Beatles music, a host groups with English names shot to prominence such as Tigers, Spiders, Jaguars and Blue Comets. Electric guitar (eleki) and long hair on boys was soon banned in schools. Unusually Blue Comets featured saxophone (modelled from the Kingsmen). Blue Comets were the only Japanese group to appear on the Ed Sullivan show. This comprehensive compilation features 2CDs and 49 tracks.
