Fine CD featuring shinuchi and various biwa styles. Biwa is a lute like instrument that originated in China, is used in gagaku and as a solo instrument played by blind priests telling stories from the Tales of the Heike. Modern biwa mostly comes from southern Japan, such as Chikuzen, Satsuma and Higo biwa. This CD has four funny stories. 1. Dochu Hizakurige - Akasara Namiki no Dan (Shinuchi) - Fumiya Okamato. 2. Dochu Hizakurige - Ichiko Kuchiyose no Dan (Shinuchi) - Asadayu Tsurgu 3. Kuzure Biwa - Tai no Mukoiri (Biwa) - Higo biwa, Yoshiyuki Yamaga. 4. Kazure Biwa - Sakemochi Gassen (Biwa) - Chikuzen biwa, Katsujo Morita.
