A true legend, Saloma, (1935-1983), is Malaysia's greatest ever female singer, and was a star of the screen as well. Her voice is described in Malaysia as lemak merdu, a kind of smooth, melodious sound, capable of singing everything from Malay folk to cha cha cha and jazz. She was also the wife of another Malay legend, P.Ramlee. Most tracks are from the 1950s-70s, from pop to bossa nova and folk.
