Maia is a French / Japanese vocalist, flautist and sax player with a Japanese chindon band. She is the daughter of French actor/singer Pierre Barouh, born in Tokyo and raised in Paris. This is her compilation of Japanese roots underground music and very good it is too, with many of the Far Side's favourite artists such as Oki, Mizuki Nakamura, Kazutoki Umezu, Nami Makioka and other little known but equally deserving artists.
