Yoko Nishi is one of the great contemporary koto players of Japan. She studied under Tadao and Kazue Sawai and was a member of the highly influential Koto Vortex. She has long held a special relationship with the music of Brasil, particularly Choro. On this album she collaborated with Brasilian musicians on accordion, piano, cello, percussion and guitar, plus Japanese shakuachi.
