Live performances of Japanese classical shamisen music called Kokyoku- old pieces- an older style of Edo period music. Originally they were performed as part of Kabuki, although these days they are peformed as concert pieces. There are four different types of Kokyoku; Kato Bushi, Icchu Bushi, Miyazono Bushi and Ogie Bushi all performed by National Treasures and the best musicians between 2006 and 2009. 10 CDs, 37 songs, box set with detailed liner notes (in Japanese).
