Hatsuneya is one of the oldest names in Kawachi Ondo, the first Tasaburo Hatsuneya created something akin to today's Kawachi Ondo by combining rokyoku (storytelling) with traditional Ondo in the Kawachi area during the Taisho period (1912-1926). Four more great Hatsuneya singers emerged all of them adding something different to what came before to bring the sound of Kawachi Ondo up to date. This box set includes very rare recordings of the Hatsuneya bon dance and concerts recorded between late 1950s and mid 60s. It features two generations and five Hatsuneya singers.
