New title. The 'kamiuta' is a ceremonius song which supports the religious life of the Miyako islands, Okinawa. Not only the songs sung in the Utaki, the sacred place, but songs such as a song of celebration at a birth, which are sung at home ar both included in the 9 tracks. Sung by women from Nishihara, Miyakojima city in their 80s and 90s, who have retired from the female religious ritual group, Nanamui, an old style that been lost in contemporary music can be heard here.
