The fast plucking shamisen style has been a big in Japan in recent years through Yoshida Brothers and other young artists. Chisato Yamada (who died three years ago) was a true master of tsugaru shamisen. Born in 1931, together with Chikuzan Takahashi, he is arguably one the greatest two players of the last century. This is a live DVD featuring four performances from different concerts.
