Hibari Misora (1937-89) is probably regarded as Japan's greatest ever singer- bar none. She was a living national treasure and was the first woman to receive the People's Prize of Honour, and has sold over 80 million records. She is best known for singing enka, but could also sing minyo, jazz and other popular styles. This 18 track album is a sort of beginners guide, with some of her greatest hits from different genres.
