By the time she was nineteen, Hibari Misora already had a body of work that would have been a lasting legacy. This 2 CD set (CD 1- 24 tracks, CD 2- 19 tracks) contains some of her greatest tunes from the early post war period. Japanese elements are mixed with boogie woogie (Kappa Boogie Woogie) mambo (Omatsuri Mambo) in what was an early world music mixture on CD 1. This also contains big hits such as Tokyo Kid and Ringo Oiwake. CD 2 has a lot of jazz influences on songs such as Shanghai, The Soba Song, Take the A Train, and La Vie en Rose. A truly remarkable talent.
