Noreum Machi describe themselves as a 'New Wave Korean Music Group', presenting music within a traditional frame with a strong contemporary edge. Founded in 1993, the traditional sounds are based on the rhythms on Korea's Jindo region, in percussion music called samulnori, introduced to the west in the late 1970s by the group Samul-Nori. They have been described as having spectacular percussion dialogues, shamanic and haunting chants and entrancing acrobatic dances. This is their third album.
