Hajime Chitose is a singer from Amami who in 2002 and 2003 had some of the biggest selling singles and albums with a blend of pop and Amami island style singing. While she isn't currently at the height of her popularity, she's still the best known artist from Amami. Her career started with this album in 2001 released on an indie label, of covers of pop songs. Unexpectedly it became quite a big hit and helped to propel her to stardom.
