Anmitsu are the Tsugaru shamisen duo of Yuka Annaka and Kumi Kindaichi. They've been at it quite a few years now, and can't be accused of jumping on any bandwagons. They both started learning when Tsugaru shamisen was decidely unfashionable, and have become skilled at the traditional repertoire, and pioneering innovators. This is their third album, playing Japanse minyo songs, not usually associated with Tsugaru shamisen, performed on shamisen with vocals, hayashi and narimono percussion.
