Collaboration album by shakuhachi player Yukihiko Mitsuka, a member of Tone and Essence Again, and jazz pianist/arranger Homei Matsumoto. Mitsuka has played with a number of musicians including taiko drummer Eitetsu Hayashi and Hamza El Din. This album is a mixture of Japanese tunes played on shakuhachi with piano accompaniment plus popular and jazz standards played on shakuhachi. Great musicianship makes this album stand out from similar ones over the years. Nice mix of styles and moods.
