Takao Morishima, graduated from being a punk in his native Kagoshima, to being a hip hop DJ in Fukuoka. Influenced by black music roots, he went in search of his own roots and moved back to Kagoshima. He researched the music of Amami island and Satsuma, discovering the gottan, a box shamisen, a relative of the Okinawan sanshin. Punk Rock Ondo and other gems. Fantastic stuff.
