Neo-Geo was one of Sakamoto's first forays into 'world music'. A stellar list of collaborators included Iggy Pop, Bill Laswell, Bootsy Collins, Tony Williams and Sly Dunbar. Sakamoto used the latest technology of the day to blend various musics, such as Okinawan, Indonesian, Chinese, jazz and funk together in a clever and imaginative way.
