Album from two of Cambodia biggest current pop stars. Female singer Pich Sophear grew up within a musical family and is certainly a great singer and rapper, massively popular in her native Phnom Penh. Sapon Midada is her male counterpart, who sings in a distinctive Cambodian style. 10 tracks including both French and Khmer versions of the title track, Dans Le Cafe. Mostly soft rock and pop style.

Cambodian heartthrob's latest album. Pop/rock/rap, fast numbers and slow ballads in western style with plenty of synthesizers and electric guitars.

Tracks vary from western style pop to rootsy Khmer ballads, that are similar Thai lukthing. Excellent in places.

Now in his 30s, Preab Sovath is a huge star in Cambodia and with the ex-pat communities in the US, Canada and Australia. His music is pop based but is full of Khmer flavours. There are similarities to Thai morlam, on some of the high energy rootsy tunes, although he is also adept at singing more orthodox ballads. Good CD to hear what young Cambodians are listening to.

Born in 1978, Moon Mara is one of Cambodia's top pop singers. From ballads to Khmer rap and jaunty, catchy upbeat numbers. Not too many Cambodian flavors but good Asian pop.

Compilation of three top female singers. Meng Pechinda born in 1979 sings pop to ramvong and the songs of former Thai singing queen, Pompuang Duangjan. Soun Chantha has been around longer and is sometimes compared to Ros Seresothea, while Him Sivorn is adept at singing many styles, although on this CD she sticks to mainly Khmer pop ballads.

Another rising star, Sapoun Midada sings Khmer pop. Mostly romantic ballads but more upbeat tunes too. Especially popular with the Khmer communities in the US.

Kim Leakana is a young singer (born in 1983). This album pits her together with heartthrob Preab Sovath. The music ranges from Khmer pop to a kind of Cambodian ragga and rap. Very catchy.
