Miyoshi Umeki, or Nancy Umeki (1929-2007) as she became known, was a Japanese/American singer and actress. On this album, recorded between 1955-56, she sings under the guidance of influential radio and television broadcaster Arthur Godfrey, with arrangements by Hugh Peretti. She sings, unusually, American standards and classics in Japanese.
