Ego Kao Grung

(Reference #FSD3073)

Pompuang Duangjan was the queen of lukthung, a national star. She died tragically in 1992 aged 31. Her status has been likened to that of Japan's Hibari Misora. She has not been forgotten and is still considered as Thailand's greatest singer for the breathtaking emotion and ornamentation she brought to her songs. She later sang a lot of pop material, but this is an album of her early and classic tracks when Pompuang was singing the rootsiest luthung. Mainly western instrumentation, with some Thai instruments too and her superb singing.

Price:   £13.99

POMPUANG DUANGJAN

Love Bites

(Reference #FSD3057)

Second album from the much vaunted Futon, comprised of Thai, Japanese and British members. Their music is a blend of glam disco, electronic 80s synthesized pop, punk, techno and Brit pop (if that's possible). They also write some pretty catchy tunes, while singer Gene Futon can sound like Bryan Ferry, so its all very accessible. This is the Japanese edition of the CD.
