In 2001 Haruomi Hosono hosted a TV programme on NHK BS2, called the Haruomi Hosono Yellow Magic Show. On the programme Hosono invited a lot of his musician friends, the so-called 'Hosono family' to perform, although it was a music variety programme with a talk and comedy element as well. This was the first time that the members of Yellow Magic Orchestra, Hosono plus Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahashi had appeared together since 1993. It's thirty years since Moonriders were formed by Keiichi Suzuki. However, Moonriders never achieved the recognition at home or abroad of their peers, but have been recognized in more recent years for their enormous influence and innovative music.
