Product Description

New title. The cultural space of the gong in the central plains of Vietnam has been chosen to be registered as the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in September 2009 for the first time. The people take much pride in the scalic gongs of the Bana which is essential for events such as water buffalo competitions. Includes an actual recording of a ceremony done in the rain, and of songs, the strummed instrument, Tinlyin, and vocals performed in the Nha Rhong (a gathering hut). This is rare music from the minority peoples of Vietnam. Recorded in 2004.
