Ad Carabou with his group, simply called Carabao is probably Thailand's most successful Phreng Phua Chiwit or Songs for Life artist. During the 1980s they had several million selling hits such as 'Made in Thailand'. This double CD of 28 tracks features those greatest hits.

Songs for Life combine Khmer and northeast Thai traditions with Bob Dylan inspired western folk. The genre, in Thai called phreng phua chiwit, dates back to the early 70s as protest songs against the then military dictatorship. Fronted by Nga Surachai Chanthimathon, the title track to this album, Khon Kub Kwai (Man and Buffalo) is Caravan's most famous song, here together with another 10 inspiring protest songs.

Proceeds from sales of this album go to victims of the tsunami that hit southern Thailand. Organized by Ad Carabao, in addition to Carabao's own tsunami song other artists on the 18 tracks include fellow Song For Life artists Pongsit Kampee, Caravan, plus pop singers such as Jae Danupol and Yunyong Opasakul.
