Product Description

Album that links Japanese traditional music with European classical music, particuarly Chopin. Various Japanese music that was popular when Chopin was alive 200 years ago, the Edo period in Japan. The album starts with a Chopin Prelude and ends with a Chopin nocturne played on the koto. In between are tunes linked with nature such as rain, thunder, streams, waterfalls, insects, birds and frogs played on narimono percusssion, with styles incorporated from nagauta, gidayu and kabuki.
